U.S. and state flags in West Virginia were lowered Friday in memory of Neil Armstrong.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said flags actually were raised Friday after they were lowered in honor of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and other American embassy workers killed in Libya this week.
They then were lowered again in memory of Armstrong -- the first man to take a giant leap onto the moon died in August in Ohio.
Tomblin said the flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Sunday.
