West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has ordered all U.S. and state flags to be lowered half-staff to honor the memory of John Christopher Stevens.
Stevens was a U.S. ambassador to Libya and was killed during an attack Tuesday on the diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya. Stevens and three other diplomats died when armed militants attacked the U.S. consulate.
The lowered flags are in accordance to the presidential proclamation. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Sunday.
