Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's Highway Safety Program kicked off Child Passenger Safety Week, and Wednesday featured the car seat challenge.
Several local celebrities took part in the event Wednesday morning at the shops at Kanawha Mall in Kanawha City.
Participants raced against each other to see who could do the best job of properly installing a safety seat. Each person had a car seat and a doll tagged with its age, weight and height. Following the proper procedures, they had 20 minutes to install the child safety seats.
This contest is an important reminder of how to properly install a safety seat. Our very own Eyewitness News Anchor Jenifer McAndrews participated in the contest.
