The wait soon will be over for folks in Greenup, Ky. A long-anticipated downtown replacement bridge is scheduled to open Wednesday.
The ribbon cutting for the $4.8 million Greenup Main Street Bridge is set for 1:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Rep. Tanya Pullin, Sen. Robin Webb and other state and local officials are scheduled to attend the event. The public also is invited to attend.
Ceremonies will take place on the downtown side of the bridge. From U.S. 23, take KY 2541 into downtown Greenup.
