Kentucky State Police say one man was killed Sunday after attempting to cross a busy section of highway in Pike County, Ky.
Merl Adkins, 49, of Virgie was trying to cross all four lanes of U.S. 23 in the Caney community when he was hit by an oncoming car traveling in the southbound lanes, troopers said.
Troopers said once Adkins was hit, he managed to walk into the northbound lanes where he was hit by two other vehicles.
Adkins was pronounced dead at the scene. That accident remains under investigation.
