The president of the Huntington Area Development Council (HADCO) announced recently that he will retire from the position effective Dec. 31, according to a news release issued for the organization. Marc Sprouse has served in the role as president of HADCO since 2009. Prior to that, he was an active member of the board of directors of the organization. Sprouse was one of the founding members of HADCO when it became its own entity. Since 1972, Sprouse has been an active member of the banking profession in West Virginia. “I have certainly enjoyed my time at HADCO. I join the board of directors and the HADCO staff in saying we’re all proud of the efforts of the organization to create jobs and stimulate the economy of our region. I feel like HADCO is on a focused path right now and it’s a good time for me to step down and spend more time with my family,” Sprouse said. The board of directors of HADCO has begun a nationwide search for a new president and is currently in the process of interviewing qualified candidates. The goal of the search committee is to have a new president in place prior to Sprouse’s departure. Sprouse has committed to stay with the organization until a replacement can be found and acclimated to the position. HADCO is an organization focused on attracting new employers to Cabell and Wayne counties, existing employers and assisting all employers expand their businesses. MORE NEWS FROM EYEWITNESS NEWS
