A man who pulled over his vehicle on Coal River Road Thursday night to assist a man in a wheelchair ended up being the victim of an armed robbery.
Kanawha County deputies said it happened about 11:30 p.m. near Valley Street just outside of St. Albans. The victim told deputies that he was flagged down by a man in an electric wheelchair and as he approached the individual, two other men approached him from behind, one with a rifle, telling him to empty his pockets.
The victim told deputies that the man in the wheelchair goes by “Zack” and described him as a thin white male with short brown hair and thin facial hair. The victim described the gunman as a thin white male in his 20s.
If you have any information on the possible identity of “Zack” or any of those involved in the alleged incident, call the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office at 304-357-0169.
