Hundreds of other officers joined about every West Virginia State Trooper at the Sunday ceremony to remember Corporal Marshall Bailey.
Cops from as far away as Alaska and California paid their respects to Cpl. Marshall Bailey. They arrived in convoys, trooped in together or alone, all part of what Col. Jay Smithers called family.
The August 28 shooting that claimed Bailey also took the life of Trooper Eric Workman. The size of this police family was impressive, as hundreds of cruisers drove in the funeral procession. Trooper Workman will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
The more than 500 vehicles in the funeral procession included police cruisers from as far away as Missouri and Arkansas.
