An Ohio man is in jail after deputies say he stole a semi-truck from Kentucky.
Corey L. Murphy, 27, of Stout, Ohio, is charged with receiving stolen property, Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said. Donini said Murphy stole the semi-truck from a parking lot of a business in Maysville, Kentucky.
Deputies and the Ohio State Patrol searched the area and found the vehicle along Hinkley Hollow in Portsmouth, Ohio, parked behind a home facing a hillside. That's the area where a witness told deputies that they saw a man cutting the truck with some cutting torches.
Donini said Murphy has been considered a person of interest in several other stolen semi-truck cases throughout the area. He is being held in the Scioto County Jail on $25,000 bond.
