A man who police say adopted several young boys over the years is now accused of sexual abuse.
South Charleston Police arrested 79 year old Charles Dean Hendrix.
Hendrix is charged with sexual abuse by a parent and first degree sexual abuse. The alleged incidents happened between 1988 and 1990. The first alleged victim came foreword last year. He is the adopted son of Hendrix. He says he was 13 at the time of the abuse.
Another man came foreword who lived near Hendrix saying he too was abused when he was between 8 and 9 years old.
During his hearing Monday, Hendrix complained of having problems with high blood pressure. Police called the medics and instead of heading straight to jail, Hendrix was transported to the emergency room.
South Charleston police say the fear there could be more victims out there. If you have any information or feel that you are a victim, call detectives at (304) 744-6903.
