The town of Wayne has a new interim mayor.
Mick Sanders, a town council member, was appointed by town council Friday and will be sworn into his new post Aug. 23. Sanders resigned from town council so he can accept the job.
Sanders will be filling a position that was vacated last week when former mayor Dwayne Stiltner stepped down for personal reasons. In late May, Stiltner's teenager daughter, Kristen, died in a car crash.
