A Cabell County man will do jail time for stealing another man’s truck with his beloved pet inside.
Stephen Carl Reed pleaded guilty Tuesday in Cabell County Circuit Court to grand larceny and animal cruelty.
Reed was charged in the incident that happened outside a barbershop in Milton in October 2011.
Police say Reed stole an F-150 truck and dumped the beagle off in a rural part of the county. Community members rallied together to search for the elderly dog, which was reunited with its owner a couple of days after that truck was stolen.
