Charleston's West Side is dealing with yet another rash of violence after a man was found murdered.
Charleston detectives say 36-year old John Allen Rogers, Jr. from Charleston was found shot in the head on the railroad tracks along Madison Street.
"He has atleast one gunshot wound. Maybe more," said Chief of Detectives, Lt. Steve Cooper.
Rogers was apparently shot around 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning, but police are still trying to figure out what sparked the violence.
Police interviewed numerous witnesses and even searched a nearby home on Washington Street.
But early Saturday morning, the search for the shooter turned up nothing.
Neighbors say the violence is nothing new. This is only the second murder in the Capital City this year. But neighbors still say they are fed up.
"About a week ago, there was another gun shooting. There wasn't anyone hurt or nothing but this West Side is getting bad," said Charleston resident, Danny Atkins.
A small community is once again left on edge, while police search for a killer.
If you have any information on Rogers' murder, call Charleston Detectives at 304-348-6480.
