Two men were arrested in separate drunken driving incidents in Nicholas County, including a suspect who was apprehended after a police chase, authorities said.
David Alan Cunningham Jr., 45, of Summersville was charged Tuesday with fleeing driving under the influence and felony fleeing, according to a news release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department. In a separate incident on Tuesday, Edward Allan Odell, 40, of Mount Nebo was charged with third-offense DUI and driving on a revoked license for third-offense DUI, both felonies, the sheriff’s department said.
Cunningham was driving a vehicle about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday that was pursued by sheriff’s deputies from Webster Road in Summersville through Craigsville, the news release said. Deputies arrested the suspect at his mother’s residence where the vehicle was stopped. Cunningham was transported to Central Regional Jail in Flatwoods where he is awaiting arraignment.
Meanwhile, Odell was driving on Old Nicholas Road in Mount Nebo when he was stopped by officers, the release said. He was transported to Central Regional Jail.
