Another miner has been killed at a West Virginia Mine.
Gregory A. Byers, 43, of Beckley died Tuesday afternoon from injuries received at the International Coal Group's Beckley Pocahontas Mine near Eccles.
Department of Commerce spokeswoman Leslie Fitzwater says it happened around 1pm when Byers was pinned by mining equipment and suffered crushing injuries.
Byers is the fourth West Virginia coal mining death so far this year. This marks the second fatality at the mine in two years. A 28-year-old miner was killed in April 2010 when he was standing too close to a piece of heavy equipment and was crushed against a wall.
