United States Attorney Booth Goodwin says Dr. Anita Dawson, 55, of Milton plead guilty in court Monday.
Dawson admitted to writing prescriptions for Oxycodone for an individual she knew was addicted to the pain medication.
Dawson prescribed nearly 6,000 pills total, and her medical license was suspended in the spring of 2010.
Dawson faces up to four years in jail and $250,000 fine when she is sentenced in October.
