A bag full of bloody medical waste falls off a truck and scatters throughout a Huntington neighborhood. It happened early Monday morning along Rt. 10 just oputside of Huntington.
Brandon Savage lives in front of where the mess happened and said, "I was angry, I just didn't see any sense in it being thrown out like that or properly contained."
Stan Mills with the Cabell Huntington Health Department says the medical waste belonged to the Mountain State Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons office on 16th Street Road.
Mills said, "The cleaning company for Mountain State hauled it off and it fell off a truck. But folks at Mountain State cleaned and picked it up."
Mills says the UV rays from the sun would kill any bacteria left behind within a day or so and urged people to call the health department in the future is they see medical waste so it can be properly disposed.
