Arson investigations continue to pile up in Huntington.
Deputy state fire marshal Reed Cook explains, "It's just widespread." That's putting it mildy. Since November 1st, he tells us fire marshals have investigated 91 fires here in Huntington. "The majority of those have been incendiary in nature," says Cook.
Two houses on 9th Avenue got hit this weekend. Each has already been set on fire once before they were torched again Saturday. It has neighbors like Pauline Parker keeping a closer watch. She says, "Everywhere. I've been keeping an eye on it."
While they have gotten and followed up on many tips, they still need information. They're putting posters, even billboards up all over town hoping to catch the attention of anybody who might have a tip.
Cook says, "We just need your information. We don't really care about your name, but you know, if you get entitled for a reward you have to give them your name, but we just need the information right now."
Until then, fire marshals continue collecting all the info they can to build a case against the person or people responsible. Cook says, "We know there's a problem, and we're just trying to keep ahead of it."
