West Virginia State Police, along with assistance from the Huntington Police Department held a Highway Safety Blitz along a well traveled section of 16th Street this afternoon.
Sgt. Greg Losh, WVa. State Police, said there have been around 30 car accidents along Halgreer Boulevard which is why they choose that section to target.
"It comes off the interstate, they maintain high speed, and we want them to slow down as they're coming into town," Losh said.
Police gave out 46 warnings, 22 speeding citations and recovered a stolen car.
