West Virginia American Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for 35 to 40 residential customers on the upper part of South Park Road in Kanawha City.
Crews say a pump failure at a booster station drained a water storage tank. They are working to repair it as quickly as possible, but customers might experience a disruption in service for six to eight hours while the tank refills.
Once water is restored; customers should boil their water for at least one minute before cooking, drinking, bathing, brushing teeth and cleaning.
