FEMA is helping the 53 counties damaged by these recent storms.
Governor Tomblin asked the federal agency to help assess all of the damage from the storms Sunday night and June 29th.
Ten teams have been dispersed across the state to assess the damage to infrastructure. This includes anything funded by taxpayer dollars; including roads, bridges, schools and libraries.
If the total damage assessment is too overwhelming for the counties and the state to bear, Governor Tomblin will ask for federal financial assistance.
