After severe storms ripped through the region Friday night leaving a path of debris largely including downed trees and power lines, a second round of storms Sunday night is causing more problems. Storms rolled through beginning in southern Ohio around 6:30 in the evening and moved southeast bringing a line of severe storms causing damaging winds, large hail, and lots of lightning.
AEP Ohio released the following statement Sunday night: "By 6:00 p.m. July 1, AEP Ohio had restored power to more than 250,000 of the 660,000 customers affected by the catastrophic storms that moved through the state June 29. A line of new storms has resulted in 20,000 additional customer outages this evening."
There are still plenty of outages across West Virginia as well. You can check those here: http://www.aepcustomer.com/outagemap/main.aspx?region=apco
Crews are still asking customers to be patient while they restore power to all areas over the next several days.
