Emergency centers are urging people not to call 911 unless it's an emergency.
Many counties say they have been inundated with calls from people wondering about when the power will be back on and asking about cooling shelters.
If you have a question that's not an emergency, you're asked to call the non-emergency number.
If you don't have phone service; and in some areas, cell service is sketchy also, they say the best thing to do is rely on your neighbors.
The Emergency Operations Center for Kanawha County wasn't spared from the problems. They just got power restored Sunday morning.
Metro 911 was also having issues with their non-emergency line. That number is working now. You can call (304) 590-9426 or (304) 767-3651.
