A former statewide political candidate arrested for shooting a man in the leg is out on bond.
Hiram Lewis was released from the Central Regional Jail over the weekend on a $70,000 cash or surety bond.
Lewis was arrested for wanton endangerment and malicious wounding after shooting Steven Bogart in the leg at his Clay County home earlier this month.
Lewis claims the shooting was in self-defense, but Bogart's version of the events are much different.
Lewis' case will be heard by the Clay County grand jury.
