We now know the name of a man killed while trying to cross the street Thursday morning.
Kanawha County deputies say Charles A. White, 58, of Institute was hit by a tractor trailer while walking on Route 25 in front of the Go-Mart in Institute just before 8am.
White was taken to Thomas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under investigation.

A man trying to cross the street on Fairlawn Avenue in front of the Go-Mart in Institute was hit by a tractor trailer around 7:45 Thursday morning.
Witnesses say the man began walking across the road and then changed his direction several times.
The driver of the tractor trailer attempted to avoid him but ended up hitting him.
The man was said to be unconscious but breathing. He was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
As a result of the accident, that stretch of Route 25 will be very slow moving as Kanawha County Deputies investigate and reconstruct the accident.
