Happy birthday West Virginia! The Mountain State turned 149 years old Wednesday.
Blenko Glass is celebrating the state's big day with the unveiling of its annual birthday design. It is a 12 inch tall turquoise vase, wrapped in zigzag yellow, brown and green lines. Each piece is personally signed by designer, Arlon Bayliss and Blenko President Walter Blenko, Jr.
Only 149 vases were made, and they will be sold for $149 this Saturday at Blenko Glass in Milton, starting at 8am. The limit is one per person on a first come, first serve basis and no advance telephone orders will be taken.
