A gator sighting near Rock Branch has people living in Putnam County on high alert.
A delivery driver spotted what he says was an alligator in the backwater along Route 25, as you leave Nitro and head towards Poca.
An animal control officer was on scene Wednesday searching for the gator, but the animal never surfaced.
The man who saw it says a co-worker also spotted it last week.
If you spot the alligator, call the Division of Natural Resources. They say most likely someone has brought home a pet from the beach and released it after it became too big.
