Multiple accidents on I-64 near the Putnam and Kanawha County line are causing major traffic problems.
Kanawha County dispatchers say I-64 is shut down from Institute to Nitro.
The first accident happened around 12pm Sunday, just past the Nitro Exit. While crews were cleaning up that accident, another happened just before the Nitro Exit.
There are no serious injuries, but deputies are diverting traffic off of the Institute Exit. Please avoid this area.
We have a crew on the scene. Stay tuned to Eyewitness News for the latest on this developing story.
