Pleasants County Deputies say two dogs have fatally mauled a 2-year-old son of William Redin near St. Marys.
Investigators say the boy had walked into neighbor's yard when the attack happened Wednesday. The dogs were controlled by an electronic fence that could shock them if they left the property, but did nothing to block the child from crossing a gravel driveway and walking into the yard. The animals belonged to Daniel Sweeney, but were being cared for by his brother, David Sweeney, at his David's home.
The dogs have been seized while deputies and troopers determine whether or not criminal charges will be filed. Deputies say there were no witnesses to the actual attack discovered about one p.m. pm June 13th. The child was found by his father.
