Police arrested 41 year old Dana Kirk and charged her with shoplifting. Police say there have been a rash of purse snatchings in Cabell County. Trooper Shane Smith with the WV State Police says Kirk had stolen 8 purses. Police say Kirk stole 5 purses from people at the Huntington Wal-Mart, 2 from the Barboursville Wal-Mart and one purse from the someone shopping at the Barboursville Kroger.
Police say a Wal-Mart employee called them after suspecting Kirk was trying to steal a purse in the store Tuesday night. When State Police approached Kirk, they found a couple credit cards in her purse that belonged to previous purse snatching victims.
Kirk is expected to be arraigned in Cabell County Magistrate Court Tuesday evening.
