Huntington police got a unanimous green light from Council to enter into a new 3 year contract. It's the first time since 2008 the Fraternal Order Of Police Gold Star Lodge 65 has had a contract with the city.
Each January of the three year contract, police can negotiate wages, plus there's a 10 percent cap on insurance premiums. Wage negotiations will be discussed at the beginning of each year of the contract.
The contract goes into effect in July, it expires 2015.
