A drilling accident causes some big problems in Harrison County Wednesday morning.
Authorities say a drilling operation in Sardis around 5am inadvertently re-pressurized a handful of old wells, creating backyard geysers and minor flooding.
At least one house was flooded by a 10 to 12-foot geyser. In most cases water gushed into yards or garages.
No one was hurt. The affected homes are on public water, so there is no danger to anyone, just a nuisance. The DEP is investigating.
