An investigation is underway after a body was found at a park in Wayne County Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 2pm at the Beech Fork State Park. State police say the body of a maintenance worker for the park was found in the water.
It's not clear how long the victim was there before being found or the cause of death.
"It’s an absolute tragedy,” said Brad Reed, a district administrator with the State Parks Central Offices in Charleston. “Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.”
The body has been sent to the state medical examiner for autopsy. The identity of the victim has not been released.
