The retrial began Wednesday for the Charleston man accused of beating a man to death with a baseball bat and critically injuring another.
A hung jury forced the judge to declare a mistrial in the case against Kenneth Eugene Carter back in March.
Carter is accused in the beating death of roommate Ronald Forton. Police found Forton's body in July after another roommate, Brady Dunlap, told them Carter beat him into unconsciousness.
