Charleston's free concert series is being billed as "bigger and better" than ever. The Moses Auto Group Live on the Levee is attracting some internationally renowned acts for the 2012 summer.
Officials and sponsors gathered at Haddad Riverfront Park along the Kanawaha River on Monday to announce the summer concert series line-up. It kicks off May 25 and runs for 15 weeks through the end of August.
New acts will be hitting the stage this year, including "Dark Star Orchestra," they perform July 13.
The Friday night concerts are free and open to anyone and officials say they've really become the centerpiece of summer in the Capital City. Councilman Tom Lane says there are groups that come to Charleston and various events that incorporate Live on the Levee into their plans.
Firework shows are scheduled for the first two Fridays.
