Employees at Kelley's Mens Shop in Charleston are shocked at the news. Kathy Goble and Charles March both worked at the shop for several years.
Their co-workers are in absolute disbelief at the turn of events. Since Goble's disappearance, the people at the store were instrumental in the search for Goble. They held press conferences, put up flyers and even hung bows along Washington Street to keep her story alive, never know that the man who has confessed to Goble's disappearance and killing was working there.
March worked at Kelley's for 30 years and his fellow employees describe him as a dilligent worker and was an expert on shoes.
They say when police came into Kelley's Wednesday, they never imagined a man they thought they knew so well would be arrested in Goble's murder.
Eyewitness News talked to one of his friends who just saw March Wednesday morning. He's stunned and can't find words.
"He's such a very nice guy. This just shocks the daylights out of me. It's unbelievable. I talked to him this morning, we came here to cut grass. He had a puzzled look on his face, he acted different. This is just unimaginable," said March's friend, Steve St. Clair.
"There is closure now that you know something, but this isn't what you want to know," said Kelley's manager, Kristi Walker.
When asked if Goble and March's relationship was more than just a work relationship, police wouldn't elaborate but say that's something they're looking into.
