A family is homeless after fire rips through their Cabell County home Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters tell Eyewitness News a lawn mower parked near the home caught fire and strong winds carried the flames a nearby boat and then to this house, completely destroying it.
The fire was first reported just after 1pm Tuesday. As of 4pm firefighters still had a difficult time trying to contain hot spots due to the strong winds.
The owners of that home tell us a cat and her newborn kittens did not survive, however, some of the other family pets did.
