The suspect in an arson that damaged two structures in Huntington earlier this week is arraigned in Cabell County court Wednesday afternoon.
Lammar Mallet, 22, of Detroit is charged with first degree Arson and being a fugitive.
Police say Mallet lived in the house on 13th Street where the fire was started.
Eyewitness News has learned an arrest has been made in connection to a double house fire in Huntington this afternoon.
Huntington police officers say they developed information that lead to identify 22-year-old Lammar Mallet as the suspect. They got a warrant and contacted Ashland Police for help. APD tracked Mallett to the Ashland Inn Motel on Winchester Avenue and arrested him this afternoon. He's being held in Boyd County and is charged with first degree arson and being a fugitive. Police say he lived in the house where the fire was started.
One firefighter is reportedly hurt after fighting a fire in Huntington Tuesday afternoon.
Dispatchers say two fires were reported just moments apart, shortly after 1pm.
We're told firefighters arrived in the 200 block of 7th Avenue, but nothing didn't find a fire there. Firefighters then called for additional assistance on a fire - this time in the 600 block of 13th Street.
Firefighters say it appears the fire started in one structure and that the wind carried it to a nearby building -- destroying it. We're told a firefighter was burned, but expected to be okay. No one else was hurt.
Huntington Police assisted in redirecting traffic while fire crews got that fire under control.
No word on the cause of that fire just yet.
