APARTMENT FIRE South Charleston Firefighters Respond To Early Morning Call

South Charleston firefighters were able to quickly knock out a small fire at an apartment building on Central Avenue early Friday morning.
Crews got the call just after 3 a.m. about the fire at 315 Central Avenue.
Firefighters said the fire started by a window in the back of the building. South Charleston police officer at the scene said there were smoke detectors in the building but the devices didn't have working batteries. They stressed the importance of making sure all the smoke detectors in your home are working.
Everyone inside the building managed to make it out safely.
