The death of nine people in Charleston's deadliest house fire is sparking action across the state.
The community of Barboursville is taking steps to prevent fatal fires from happening in the future.
Officials say smoke detectors could have prevented such a massive loss of life in the tragedy.
Urgent Care and the Barboursville Volunteer Fire Department are teaming up to provide free smoke detectors to people.
They're asking for you to drop off new smoke detectors or make a donation at Urgent Care on Chateau Lane.
The two organizations will hand out smoke detectors at the end of the month.
