It wasn't a typical scene at Roxalana Hills Apartments in Dunbar, Thursday night. And certainly not a typical night for Phong Chu So.
He says he was leaving his apartment Thursday when three men approached him in the parking lot. He says he never saw them before so he asked them if they were looking for someone. Little did he know, those men had a mission.
"The one guy pulled my neck and put a gun to me. They had two guns, 9 millimeters. They held me down like that, and said tell your wife to open the door," he said.
Phong Chu So says the men started to kick him, put two guns to his head and yelled at his wife to open the door. He says he was worried about what the men would do to his wife and 2-year old boy, Tae. He says he would have died to protect them.
"I don't want them to hurt my son. I first think of my son all the time. They either kill me...don't hurt my son I don't mind," he said.
His wife called police and the men took off with his wallet and keys to his car. An eyewitness told police that one of the suspects was in a red Dodge Charger. Nitro police spotted the Charger on Goff Mountain Road a few hours later leading them to Brandon Davis, Keith Glenn, and Darrell Gillepsie. All three are charged with kidnapping and armed robbery, while one man is counting his blessings. "I don't mind if he killed me. But I can't let him touch my kid," he said.
Dunbar police want to assure the people at Roxalana Hills Apartments that it was an isolated incident.
