HONORING A SERVANT Kanawha County EMT Remembered

The Kanawha County EMT's are remembering one of their own Thursday.
54-year old Frederick Tillis Sr., also known as "Freddy" passed away earlier this week after a short illness. Tillis served as an EMT and a CPR Instructor for the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority .
Mike Jarrett, Chaplain for the KCEAA says Tillis will be remembered "for his passion for teaching CPR/First Aid classes throughout the state, and his love for EMS, his family and friends. He has taught tens of thousands of people CPR across the region."
In a release from Jarrett, he says "Fred was a longtime Emergency Medical Technician, currently serving Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority and Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department He started in EMS as a volunteer in 1977 with Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority through the Cross Lanes Volunteer Ambulance and Sissonville Volunteer Ambulance. He was a former employee of Duff Ambulance Service, where he was elected unanimously among the employees as their first supervisor."
A memorial service for Tillis took place at Perrow Presbyterian Church, Cross Lanes with full EMS and Fire Service honors. Tillis was laid to rest at the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
