Huntington Police arrested Patrick Adkins, 50, and charged him with first degree arson Tuesday night. Police say Adkins started the fire at a home in the 1600 block of 12th Avenue. Nobody was hurt and firefighters quickly contained the fire.
Adkins tells Eyewitness News he was high on crack with others when the fire started, but he wasn't responsible for it.
Police say Adkins is no stranger to crime, he spent time in prison 20 years ago for robbing a bank. Cabell County Magistrate Betty Wolford set his bond at $30,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 29th.
