A little boy is speaking out after seeing his best friend get killed.
12 year old Tyrel Coffman says he was with his best friend 11 year old Jahlil Clements the evening of March 4th.
Tyrel tells us Jahlil's mother was driving, her boyfriend Ethan Samuel Chic Colbert was in the passenger seat, Jahlil's baby brother and another friend were in the back.
Police say Chic Colbert started hitting Jahlil's mom, causing her to pull to the side of the road.
Reports say he drug her out of the car and continued beating her.
Tyrel says the boys fought back, trying to keep Chic Colbert from hurting Jahlil's mom.
The boys were not strong enough to fend Chic Colbert off so Jahlil t ran for help. Tragically Jahlil was hit by a car.
Chic Colbert is charged with four counts of child neglect causing risk of injury or death.
