A young girl allegedly fell victim to an on-line predator, a man police say came all the way to Putnam County to take her back to Michigan. Police say 33-year-old Ashlee Liebert drove straight from michigan to pick up a 12-year-old girl, he met on-line, and then told police her age didn't matter, because their love was so strong. Police say Liebert and the girl met about five months ago while playing the computer game, World of Warcraft, and started a relationship. But police say Liebert became concerned about a relationship the girl had with a friend so he moved out from behind the computer and drove to where the girl was staying early Sunday, picked her up and they drove off. Vodka, lollipops and Reese's cups were found in Liebert's car, thought to be presents for the 12-year-old. "His intent was and her intent was to go back to Detroit," Putnam County Sheriff Mark Smith says. But the two didn't make it beyond Cross Creek Road near Buffalo. The girl was reported missing and police soon got a call of a suspicious vehicle. Inside that car they say they found the 12-year-old and Liebert, who was naked. He told police he had sexual relations with the girl. "Had we not discovered that vehicle and arrested that guy, they would have gone back to Detroit and who knows what would have happened. Would we have found her? Who knows. If we did, it may have been too late," Sheriff Smith says. But according to the criminal complaint Liebert isn't letting his arrest stop him, he told detectives once he gets out he plans to take the girl back to Michigan, because he loves her that much and says it's God's plan. Liebert is charged with third degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust. Putnam County detectives went to Michigan Monday to search Liebert's computer. The sheriff says Liebert admitted to soliciting other young girls on-line. Depending on what detectives find, he could face more charges. MORE NEWS FROM EYEWITNESS NEWS
