West Virginia American Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for approximately 300 customers in the communities of Bim, Pondco, Barrett, Wharton and Clinton in Boone County.
The affected area includes Route 85, beginning in the community of Bim through the community of Clinton, as well as all side roads in-between.
Crews say a main broke, which drained a nearby storage tank.
Customers should boil their water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, bathing and brushing teeth.
