Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has extended the 2012 Legislative Session.
Tomblin issued a proclamation Wednesday extending the session for three days so the Legislature can take up the budget bill.
When the budget bill has not been finally acted upon by the Legislature three days before the expiration of its regular session, the West Virginia State Constitution requires the governor to issue a proclamation to extended the regular session.
According to the proclamation, the Legislature can only consider the budget bill and a provision for the cost during the extended session.
