WV State Troopers Honored For Actions In The Line Of Duty

South Charleston , Kanawha County , West Virginia
Half dozen troopers are being honored for their actions in the line of duty.
The ceremony was held Friday at the state police headquarters on Jefferson Road in South Charleston, West Virginia.
The medals given were, purple hearts, medal for lifesaving, meritorious service medals, and medal of valor.
Corporal Andrew Pringle received a Purple Heart award after being hit by a drunk driver while he was on a stop.
Trooper Gary Honaker received the Medal for Lifesaving for rendering aid to Pringle.
Trooper First Class Joseph Finnicum received the meritorious service medal for his actions during an alleged kidnapping in Mason County.
Corporal Douglas Starcher also received a meritorious service medal for his actions after an armed man showed up outside the state police detachment in Elizabeth.
Sergeant Christopher Kane received the medal of valor for his actions saving a man from the Guyandotte river.
Sergeant Gregory Stalnaker also got the medal of valor for actions for protecting the lives of fellow officers while they helped remove the late United States Marshal Derek Hotsinpiller out harms way after being shot by a suspect.
