A South Point, Ohio man is facing kidnapping and assault charges after police say he got into an argument with his girlfriend that took a violent turn.
Court documents say 33-year old Bradley J. Scarberry allegedly choked, punched, and drug his girlfriend into a bedroom in a Marcum Terrace apartment back in the middle of February. The victim tells police that's where Scarberry broke 3 different cell phones while she tried to call for help.
Police say once she was able to make it out of one bedroom, Scarberry allegedly hit her repeatedly and locked her inside another bedroom for several hours. The victim tells police she was able to flag down someone outside the apartment for help.
The victim received multiple injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Huntington Police arrested him Thursday. Scarberry is charged with unlawful assault and kidnapping. He is in the Western Regional Jail on a $50,000 dollar bond. His preliminary hearing is set for next week.
