It's been a whirlwind of a school year for Chase Likens and his three roommates Jordan Henry, Elizabeth Sites and Brittany Cavender.

Henry says, "Unreal. I mean it's just so phenomenal that we get to experience all these things with him, and we go on all the ups and downs on this roller coaster that is American Idol."

We recently sat down with Point Pleasant native Likens about his American Idol journey, but he's out in Hollywood indefinitely now as one of the top 24 contestants!
He told show producers, "The sheer level of how worldwide and nationwide this show is really going to take a toll on me i think to be in front of that audience. "

Cavender, "I think all the girls are going to fall in love with his charm, and all the boys are going to think that he's the coolest just because he's a very composed person and he's not show-offy, and he's so genuine. I just think that he's got everything that it takes to be a star."

Back near Marshall University's campus, his roomies are thrilled to be rooting him on. Henry says, "I don't think I've ever met anyone else whose dreams could possibly surpass Chase's." Henry adds, "He's got the confidence to back it up to go far, and I have no doubt that he will."

They've gone from their usual routine of frequently watching movies, going out to eat, and enjoying the outdoors to being with Likens throughout his Idol journey.

Henry says they went from watching a midnight showing of Harry Potter and drove through the night to make it to Likens' Pittsburgh audition. Sites "It's been crazy, just to know someone that we're so close to is on T.V." She says, "He just has everything. He can perform his voice is amazing he has the look for it."

Cavender says, "He's such a great performer and he' so engaging in his music."

The trio is convinced Likens won't let all the attention go to his head. Henry tells us,
"I have no doubt in my mind that he is not going to change. He's still going to remain the same person that we've all come to love and be best friends with."

Cavender says, "If it's not this one it's going to be the next one because he's not going to stop and somebody is going to find him and scoop him up because he's got it!"

Sites adds, "He still texts us every and ask how is your day going, I'm doing this today, thinking about you."

They say no matter what happens, they will continue to support their friend. Henry says, "Even if he doesn't make it to the Top 12, I'm pretty sure he's got a good chance to go and you know get a record label or have someone else sign him or something like that because his talent is just phenomenal."

As they all watch him tonight take on a dozen other male contestants (there will be a surprise contestant added to the top 12 men tonight), they will max out their votes... and they encourage you do to the same!
Henry says, "I think you get 50 online votes, and I have an unlimited plan for texting, so I'll be texting all evening."

Sites says, "We will be voting for two hours straight with all of our friends. It will be nonstop voting."

You can catch Chase Likens performing on American Idol Tuesday night starting at 8:00 on our sister station, FOX 11.
